Helena Montana County Fair

Oh my Helena! This was our first time playing at the Lewis and Clark County Fair in Helena, Montana. We had a great time playing shows for three days to awesome crowds and new friends. The big sky of Montana brought all kinds of weather to our shows including wind, rain, and some sun. However, no matter the weather, those hearty folks in Montana stuck with us throughout the show!

A few of us kept ourselves busy in between gigs by going fishing in the Missouri River
(yes, the Missouri River is in Montana)! The rest of the gang played every game from Poker to Settlers of Catan. By the way, despite his best efforts, Brandon has yet to beat me in Poker although the entire band seemed to be conspiring against me.

On a very, very, very funny note: We were able to learn and see a whole new side of Ashley, thanks to Tyzen the hypnotist, who was amazing. At one point during his show, Ashley tried to revive a dead squirrel by giving it what can only be described as the "hind-lick maneuver." Yes, you read that right, and you can deduce for yourself what that looked like. Let's just say, I hope none of us needs CPR from Ashley in the future. We also want to thank the Earl Wear Band, whom I met at the Rocky Mountain Fair Association. Those guys are great, and if you ever get the chance to see them, make sure to do so.

We were able to try out some new tunes that will be on the new album, which will be released very soon! Pretty Lady, There's a Woman Involved, and In My Dreams are quickly becoming some of our most favorite songs to perform.

We just want to thank the fair committee for great food, fun, and fair! We hope to make it back up to Helena soon because we're falling in love with Montana.

Midnight Sun Events Festival, Rifle, Colorado

Today was a day of firsts. It was our first show in Rifle, Colorado, our first show for the Midnight Sun Events Festival, and our first time opening for Unwritten Law and Skid Row. Not surprisingly, it was also one of our loudest shows.

Besides being as hot as a cowgirl in tight wranglers (double meaning intended), and getting a flat tire on our trailer, we had a GREAT time. One of the cool things for me was being able to play at the Garfield County Fairgrounds. I learned today, while doing a radio interview with Gabe, that Chris LeDoux played one of his very last shows at Garfield County Fairgrounds! We ended our show with a tribute medley to him. We want to thank all of the wonderful people who made the event a huge success for us!

On a personal note, I would like to thank Trent, Brooke, Susan, and Joe Joe for believing in us and making us feel a part of the Midnight Sun Events family.

On a much more important note, today is a great day in the Wilson family! Many people know Talia, who plays the fiddle, and her Dad, Jeff, whom we call the "X-Factor" because he not only drives the bus, but he does a million other things behind the scenes that make this dream possible. Their brother and son, Harper, returned home from Afghanistan today!!!!! We are proud of him and grateful for all of the brave servicemen and women who keep us safe. In our band, "country" has a double meaning.

Hello World! This is Charley Jenkins! I wanted to let ya'll know about some very exciting things that are happening. First of all, we have a NEW ALBUM coming out in LESS THAN a month. These are some of the best songs I've ever written! I've been able to partner up with Bryce Johnson at Summit Music to create this project and I'm looking forward to getting these songs that I love out into the world. Some people say that songs are like children- you love each one the same for different reasons. And you want them to go out into the world and be successful! I just hope that my children (songs) can take care of me when I get old.

We have not been doing a great job at letting you know what's going on in our world. That's going to change. Like everything that we do, it's "Go big, or go Home." So here's what we're going to do.

We are going to post a blog entry with photos and video from the show for each one of our gigs. We want to invite all of you who come to the shows to send us your pictures so that we can post them on this blog and on our associated sites!!! We are planning on sending out a free download for each person who signs up on our e-mail list. I'm also going to "Tweet", update Facebook more often, and send out e-mails with every blog entry. The website will also be updated with new Bio's and photos of my band. I want you to get to know them the way that you've gotten to know me. They are incredible musicians and dear friends!

I want to personally thank all of you for encouraging and inspiring me to do what I do. YOU are the reason. YOU make this dream possible for me. Thank you so much for all of the love and support over the years. I look forward to seeing you down the road.

Keep Ridin'
